Under A Blue Sky (Master's Portfolio Project)

Blue skies—a symbol of idealized optimism, a vision of vast, bright, boundless potential. 

In this project, Under a Blue Sky, that ideal sky serves as a backdrop—not for untouched scenic wilderness, but for landscapes marked by human aspiration and interference. The promise of the “American Dream” converges with a quieter, more complex reality: what we actually build, what we leave behind. 

This work explores the divide between what we promote and what we truly prioritize. “Blue skies” often evoke a glorified perspective of the world, yet in practice, we tend to overlook the tangible consequences of our pursuits. The sky remains open and hopeful, but what it frames may tell a different story. 

Through these images, I hope to create space for reflection on the world we are constructing—the true impact of our ambitions and the lasting imprint they leave. Beneath the facade of “blue skies,” there is an invitation to reconsider not only what we see, but how we choose to see it.
